HISTORY

A wine named after the person who grew it, the person who believed in their dreams.
We are in Agliè in the 1960s, when at the age of 29, Antonio Maffeo, nicknamed 'Tunin Fejot', with a future as a construction entrepreneur already well established, and which he would continue throughout his life, still had another dream: to cultivate vineyards.
Born into a peasant family, at a time when land was needed to feed the family and nothing more, at a time when most people were abandoning country life for the more lucrative work in the Olivetti factories, he decided to buck the trend and invest in land and in particular in vineyards.

As for the vines to be grown, Antonio decides to keep the Barbera grape, typical of the area, but also to favor another vine, which at the time was even unpopular with many, the Erbaluce vine.
Erbaluce is one of the oldest Piedmontese wines, already known in Roman times as 'Alba Lux' and later mentioned in the 17th century by various scholars who described it as "white, as resplendent as the dawn." This is evidenced by Giovan Battista Croce's 1606 work, "On the Excellence and Diversity of Wines Made in the Turin Mountains, and on How to Make Them."

SELECTION

Micro-Production
Extreme selection for extreme quality
First, you choose which vineyards or vineyards to take the grapes from based on their characteristics and the desired final result.
Then we proceed on foot, harvesting the individual bunches. Calmly and carefully, as with all things done with care.
Of the total available, a minimal percentage is vinified. Where thousands of bottles could be produced, they decide to produce just one barrique instead...!
